Principal Enterprise Architect – Platforms, DevOps, SRE, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, App, Data & Cloud - Onsite

Location: Onsite in Springfield, Missouri, at hirify.global Base Camp. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the area. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise architecture vision, blueprint, standards, and multi-year roadmap across platforms, applications, data, and cloud.
• Lead adoption of domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven integration, cloud-native platforms, and API-first ecosystems.
• Manage and develop a team of solution, platform, data, and domain architects.
• Define strategies for DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, GitOps, platform engineering, and self-service developer platforms.
• Establish SRE practices covering SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, observability, incident response, resilience, and performance.
• Provide architectural governance and oversight for major programs, including cloud, security, data, and high-risk technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 12–15+ years of experience in software or architectural leadership, including 5+ years leading architects or senior engineers.
• Experience delivering cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven systems at scale.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd, CI/CD, Terraform or Bicep, and observability tools including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL data platforms, caching, streaming, Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
• Experience mentoring architects and collaborating with engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in retail or e-commerce.
• Experience with GitHub, Aqua Security, Akamai, Elastic, Kong, Azure API Management, ServiceNow, and ITIL frameworks.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud cost management.
