Software Engineer Lead - DoW

Location: On-site at Chidlaw Building and Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. Remote and telework are not available. No relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $170,000–$185,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams in designing, developing, integrating, and delivering reliable mission software.
• Develop and integrate full-stack applications and containerize software applications.
• Maintain code quality, security, and testing standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Translate operational needs into technical plans in collaboration with product owners, scrum masters, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Implement automation, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior developers while balancing hands-on development and strategic leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• AT Level II certification required, such as Security+ CE or equivalent.
• Experience with ITW/AA or the NISSC II contract within the past year.
• At least 12 years of general work experience and 10 years of directly related software development experience.
• Experience leading and mentoring software development teams, developing technical solutions, and working in Agile environments.
• Detailed understanding of containers and experience containerizing applications.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating monolithic applications to microservices architecture.
• Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, VMware Tanzu, DAST tools, or CCIC2S applications.
