Manager, Software Engineering (Healthcare)

Location: United States (Remote)

Base salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus annual bonus incentive, benefits, and potential employee equity purchase program participation.

What you will do

• Build, develop, and mentor a team of software engineers while supporting career growth, feedback, and promotion planning.
• Partner with Product, Data Engineering, Enterprise Analytics, and Foundations teams on data models, system boundaries, and integrations.
• Facilitate delivery of the technical roadmap through data-driven decisions, iterative development, simplicity, and value delivery.
• Translate business goals into technical architecture and requirements, including product scope and timeline estimation.
• Guide scalable, stable, efficient, maintainable, and extensible technical solutions.
• Drive progress through ambiguous requirements, evolving ownership, and undefined system boundaries.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software development experience and 3+ years managing engineers as a primary function.
• Experience managing teams responsible for a cloud-based technology stack; AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience navigating change, evolving priorities, and ambiguous requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience working asynchronously and remotely.
• Ability to develop engineers across a broad range of professional skills and clear obstacles to effective work.
• Experience leading organization-wide engineering initiatives and balancing rapid proof-of-concept work with robust systems.
