Engineering Manager, Care Delivery (AI/Healthcare)

Location: Fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the United States

Base annual salary: $180,000–$200,000 USD, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and grow a small engineering team responsible for clinical and operational systems.
• Guide architecture and delivery for backend services, workflows, integrations, and internal tools.
• Oversee systems for clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, and workflow automation.
• Ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that protect patient data and support HIPAA-compliant care delivery.
• Partner with product, clinical, and operations leaders to define roadmaps and translate care requirements into engineering plans.
• Promote small-batch continuous delivery, feature flags, strong CI/CD, DORA metrics, and safe deployment practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with prior senior- or staff-level engineering experience.
• Experience delivering complex backend or workflow-heavy systems in production.
• Hands-on fluency with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, React/Next.js, and AWS-based infrastructure.
• Experience with small-batch delivery, feature flags, testing, operational excellence, and technical risk mitigation.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native and agentic software development, including tools such as Claude Code.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders; healthcare or other regulated-domain experience is a plus.
