Field Designer (Electric Utilities)

Location: Commerce City, Colorado, United States. Hybrid work split between office and field environments, with regular travel to client facilities, construction sites, and job sites.

Salary: $53.00–$63.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

What you will do

• Provide technical design assistance for construction and field execution.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, constructability reviews, and field verification.
• Evaluate field conditions and recommend or coordinate design modifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients throughout project execution.
• Review field documentation and as-built information for completeness and accuracy.
• Support commissioning, startup, project closeout, and mentoring of junior designers.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of design experience, including field support.
• Strong understanding of design documentation and construction practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to project sites and work in office and field environments.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain, work outdoors in changing weather conditions, and use required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting commissioning or startup activities.
• OSHA or construction safety training.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and construction teams.
• Client-facing experience on infrastructure or engineering projects.
