Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Investigate safety incidents, close calls, chemical spills, and environmental releases using root-cause analysis and formal reporting.
• Conduct EHS inspections, site audits, risk assessments, and corrective and preventive action planning.
• Lead safety training, new-hire safety orientations, safety committee activities, emergency response drills, and safety communications.
• Support production teams and managers with OSHA regulations, inspections, citations, PPE, fall protection, and lockout/tagout compliance.
• Maintain safety metrics and coordinate regulatory reports, including OSHA 300 and SARA filings.
• Support environmental compliance through audits, spill reporting, permitting, and monitoring regulatory developments.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in a relevant field and at least two years of applicable manufacturing experience.
• At least two years of experience conducting EHS inspections, risk assessments, and workplace safety and environmental compliance activities.
• Strong knowledge of current federal and state EHS regulations and best practices.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills for working with Engineering, Operations, and Management.
• Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status due to ITAR regulations.
• Temporary visa holders, including E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, TN, and OPT holders, are not eligible.
