Health Safety & Environmental Lead

Location: Lancaster, New York, USA, with travel and support required at the Lancaster and Batavia sites. Full-time onsite schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations, including permits, records, reporting, waste handling, and disposal.
• Lead internal and external audits, respond to non-conformances, and conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate HSE training for employees and contractors, manage contractors, and communicate workplace hazards across the organization.
• Lead emergency response planning, drills, safety committee meetings, workers’ compensation coordination, and workplace injury reporting.
• Track and report safety and sustainability metrics, manage HSE supplies, and drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and required HSE certifications.
• 5–7 years of experience with health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs or teams.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards, with the ability to influence and communicate at all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, coach employees, and constructively challenge existing practices.
