Senior Technology Implementation Consultant (Healthcare)

Location: USA - Chicago, IL, West Adams St; travel 20–30%; applicants may be required to appear onsite at a hirify.global office during the recruitment process.

Salary: $78,400–$136,950 USD annually, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the delivery of complex healthcare technology integration projects across provider and payer organizations.
• Translate clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Configure and deploy interoperability platforms and healthcare applications supporting HL7 v2 and FHIR-based data exchange.
• Partner with clinical teams, IT departments, customer representatives, and executive stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create or oversee API references, data mappings, onboarding guides, technical specifications, and troubleshooting playbooks.
• Resolve complex cross-system issues and coordinate internal resources to address customer needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of direct healthcare experience with HL7 v2.x interfaces and API-based integrations, including customer-facing implementation or solutions engineering work.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, healthcare informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR authorization flows, REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTTP, OAuth, API keys, and other authentication methods.
• Experience with interface engines or integration tools such as Cloverleaf, Mirth/NextGen Connect, Rhapsody, or Corepoint.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers, translate requirements into mappings and workflows, and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
• Experience with API testing and documentation tools such as Postman or SOAP UI, plus proficiency analyzing data with Excel and SQL.
