Business Systems Analyst III (Healthcare)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; primarily on-site at the San Diego headquarters or another company location. Remote work may be approved by management based on business requirements.

Salary: $83,426–$145,997 per year.

What you will do

• Interview internal and external clients and end users to define requirements for software modifications and enhancements.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, business rules, flow charts, report mock-ups, and system requirements.
• Facilitate design sessions and collaborate with business stakeholders, software development, database, and QA teams.
• Lead assigned projects, develop project plans, prioritize tasks, and report progress to stakeholders and management.
• Perform quality control checks before software releases and provide support throughout the software development life cycle.
• Manage service requests and release activities, and provide functional guidance to less experienced analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with a pharmacy benefit manager, health plan, or State Medicaid Fee for Service is required.
• Intermediate SQL knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts; Oracle experience is preferred.
• Basic UNIX command-line experience and proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, project prioritization, and requirements-gathering skills.

Nice to have

• PL/SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project experience.
• Certified Business Analysis Professional certification.
• Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management and pharmaceutical practices.
