What you will do

• Teach Spanish language skills across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Prepare students for Advanced Placement and collegiate-level coursework using authentic print and audio sources.
• Build students’ confidence in Spanish conversation and develop cultural awareness.
• Analyze student work and assessments with principals and instructional coaches, then differentiate instruction.
• Collaborate with Spanish, grade-level, and school-wide teams to set academic and engagement goals.
• Partner with students’ families and participate in coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins.
• Academic expertise in Spanish or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development.
• Ability to collaborate, learn independently, and apply feedback.
• New York certification eligibility is required; teachers without an education degree must enroll in a teacher preparation program, maintain a GPA of at least 2.5, and become certified in New York within a reasonable period after starting.
