Salary: $68,969.96–$113,824.10 per year, depending on skills and experience

What you will do

• Teach English Language Arts through engaging, diverse, and real-world learning experiences aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
• Create organized yearlong curriculum maps, units, lesson plans, and cross-curricular projects incorporating technology and digital arts.
• Track student assignments, exams, and progress, providing useful feedback and using assessment data to guide instruction.
• Build a safe, culturally responsive, nurturing classroom that supports independent learning, collaboration, and student choice.
• Communicate regularly with families, contribute to the professional learning community, and attend key community events.
• Develop innovative instructional and classroom-management strategies that support ambitious student outcomes.

Requirements

• Current California teaching credential in the related content area
• Mastery of the subject matter, instructional skills, and course resources
• Proficiency with technology and experience incorporating technology into instruction
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of growth mindset, project- or inquiry-based learning, core competencies, and authentic assessment
• One year of classroom teaching experience preferred
