Director, Human Resources

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring work from the Hartford office a minimum of four days per week.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Lead HR processes and initiatives across television stations, including staffing, performance management, compensation, succession planning, training, rewards, organizational effectiveness, and employee communication.
• Create and execute employee relations strategies while interpreting HR policies and advising employees and managers.
• Partner with business leaders on growth strategies, cost challenges, organizational decisions, and workforce planning.
• Build career paths, support training and advancement, and identify, develop, and retain talent.
• Collaborate with Labor Relations on collective bargaining, grievances, and union relationships.
• Coach executives and department leaders while driving change, technology adoption, workflow improvements, and organizational development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional HR experience.
• Experience with employee relations, labor relations, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, communication, and business partnership.
• Knowledge of employment and labor laws, performance management, organizational design, compensation, leadership development, OSHA, and workplace safety.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead change, establish credibility with leaders, and support employees at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work from the Hartford, Connecticut office at least four days per week under the current hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA and HR certification.
• Experience with union-represented workforces and labor relations.
• Media or television industry experience.
