Project Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; primarily office-based or hybrid, with occasional travel to customer or field locations.

What you will do

• Lead the development, decomposition, management, and traceability of technical requirements from customer needs through design, integration, and verification.
• Maintain requirement baselines and change control in Jama while collaborating with systems engineering and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical guidance, review requirement changes, and manage the Requirements Review Board.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, status reports, and verification progress updates.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and SAOC integrated product teams.
• Identify requirement risks, gaps, and issues and drive process and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Current, active Secret U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Ability to work primarily in an office or hybrid environment and visit potentially hazardous project sites when required.

Nice to have

• Leadership or project management experience, advanced project management tools, and knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with project estimates, technical proposals, cost and schedule management, and complex baseline maturation.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and test procedures.
• INCOSE certification or experience with INCOSE standards.
• Aerospace and defense industry experience.
