Sr Strategic Manager, Mechanical (Medtech)

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States; travel to supplier sites and regional facility audits up to 20–25%.

Annual salary: $120,000–$160,000, plus target bonus/incentive pay of 10% of annual base salary.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain global commodity strategies for mechanical categories including tape, adhesive, plastic, injection molding, and pouches.
• Lead strategic commodity management and deliver savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost-region sourcing, risk management, spend coverage, and supplier performance improvements.
• Conduct business reviews with preferred suppliers and monitor contractual obligations, performance standards, and continuous improvement goals.
• Support and improve vendor management processes while partnering with contract manufacturers.
• Drive supply-chain efficiencies and continuous improvement throughout the product service lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in strategic procurement and commodity management.
• Experience developing and executing mechanical category strategies and vendor-management processes for spend of up to $60 million.
• Deep understanding of engineering quality issues caused by materials or manufacturing processes and their solutions.
• Experience with purchasing, ERP, or Agile systems, plus demonstrated results in materials-shortage management and inventory control.
• Ability to work on-site in Irvine and travel up to 20–25% for supplier visits and facility audits.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital strategic procurement systems, spend analysis, sourcing, contract management, and procure-to-pay processes.
• Mandarin Chinese or Spanish language skills.
• Proven cost-reduction results and project-management skills.
