What you will do

  • Schedule appointments ranging from single-provider visits to complex multi-specialist care plans.
  • Perform front-desk check-in and check-out, patient registration, demographic updates, insurance verification, and clinical intake.
  • Manage referrals, medical records requests, prior authorizations, and coordination with the main campus and outside providers.
  • Answer and triage patient, family, and provider calls while directing patient flow and escalating emergencies appropriately.
  • Maintain provider schedules, patient databases, alerts, billing-related processes, forms, reports, and administrative records.
  • Support patient navigation, financial counseling referrals, clinical systems training, and coordination of care services.

Requirements

  • Associate degree; three years of equivalent experience may substitute. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a medical or customer service setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to perform complex scheduling and prepare administrative reports and correspondence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, computer, customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use DFCI and local hospital systems, including Epic and Meditech.
