Systems Designer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The role includes commissioning solutions at client sites and travelling up to 30% throughout North America.

What you will do

• Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and industrial information solutions.
• Conceptualize system designs across the project life cycle, from plant-floor automation to enterprise-level solutions.
• Program, debug, test, and commission systems at client sites.
• Design and integrate PLC/PAC, HMI, SCADA, networking, database, vision, machine safety, servo motion, MES, ERP, and high-level software solutions.
• Create engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, case studies, and other project documentation.
• Develop methodologies, identify improvement opportunities, learn new technologies, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience with some or all of the listed automation and software technologies.
• Analytical, meticulous, conscientious, self-motivated, and able to learn quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and full-time access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% throughout North America.
