Research Accounting Systems Strategist (Workday)

Location: Brookline, Massachusetts, United States; remote work with occasional onsite presence

Salary: $170,500–$188,100 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and optimize Workday research administration and accounting functionality.
• Support financial and research administration systems, including Workday, InfoEd, OnCore, Minuet/Inteum, and Fund Driver.
• Execute and document semi-annual end-to-end testing for Workday updates and system upgrades.
• Maintain process documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures; train end users.
• Generate financial reports and provide system data and documentation for audits and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Research, HRIS, IS, SCM, vendors, and consultants on system enhancements and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in research accounting, finance, or accounting systems design.
• Experience supporting financial systems in research, higher education, or nonprofit environments.
• Experience with Workday and ERP system design.
• Knowledge of sponsored research regulations, Uniform Guidance, and NIH requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
