Sr. Director, Finance Operations and Manufacturing (Biotech Manufacturing)

Location: USA, remote; posted in Coralville, Iowa and Fargo, North Dakota, with qualified candidates in other U.S. locations considered. On-site work is preferred.

Annual salary: $200,000–$250,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead Finance partnership with Operations and Manufacturing across IDT and Aldevron.
• Build financial operating mechanisms covering cost, capacity, quality, delivery, inventory, working capital, and profitability.
• Develop product costing, standard costing, cost accounting, manufacturing variance, COGS, absorption costing, inventory valuation, and profitability frameworks.
• Support capital deployment, capacity expansion, manufacturing network planning, automation, ERP implementation, and investment decisions.
• Improve forecasting, KPI governance, executive reporting, and business review processes.
• Lead finance transformation, integration, organizational redesign, continuous improvement, and team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an MBA or CPA is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including 5+ years leading leaders or senior teams.
• Experience with multi-site operational finance in biotech, pharmaceutical, CDMO, medical device, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Deep expertise in manufacturing finance, product costing, cost accounting, COGS management, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis.
• Strong understanding of P&L management, inventory optimization, capital deployment, capacity investments, forecasting, and S&OP.
• Experience with complex product portfolios, capital-intensive operations, transformation or integration programs, ERP systems, executive dashboards, and advanced financial modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience with gene reading and writing segments or CDMO business models.
• Familiarity with the hirify.global Business System and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders in complex global organizations.
