Director, Finance (FP&A)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $159,000–$211,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead enterprise FP&A activities and translate financial and operational performance into actionable insights for senior leaders.
• Analyze US GAAP results, capital considerations, operational KPIs, trends, risks, opportunities, and decision implications.
• Develop scalable data structures, management reporting, executive dashboards, budgets, forecasts, scenarios, and performance views.
• Establish and improve finance platforms, reporting frameworks, data flows, governance practices, controls, and quality standards.
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Actuarial, accounting, risk, data, and business teams across domestic and international operations.
• Lead and mentor the FP&A team, serve as SOX process owner, oversee control deficiencies, and advise on strategic and executive-level requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
• At least 12 years of accounting or finance experience, including eight years of management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of an assigned business area, such as investments, premiums, or corporate finance.
• Strong leadership, people management, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and financial business systems.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Nice to have

• CPA, MBA, or a master’s degree in finance, data analytics, business analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with enterprise data transformation, reporting modernization, financial data warehousing, or finance analytics initiatives.
• Knowledge of Power BI, AWS, Oracle, and enterprise reporting or planning environments.
• Experience with complex multi-source financial and operational data, budgeting, forecasting, and executive decision-making.
• Insurance, financial services, actuarial, AI-enabled analytics, or international business experience.
