What you will do

• Teach AP Capstone courses using a shared curriculum focused on topical issues, collaboration, research, and college readiness.
• Facilitate student-led research projects by reviewing progress, asking guiding questions, and supporting increasingly complex work.
• Develop students’ reading, writing, discussion, communication, and collaboration skills through individual and group assignments.
• Conduct individual and small-group conferences and teach students to critique and revise their work.
• Analyze student work and assessment trends with school leaders, adapt instruction, and differentiate learning strategies.
• Build relationships with students and families while participating in school-wide meetings, mentoring, coaching, and team planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed before employment begins.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
• Strong subject-matter knowledge, commitment to student achievement, self-motivation, teamwork, and accountability.
• Ability to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues.
• Education experience is not required for new teachers, but demonstrated passion for working with K–12 students is expected.
• Experienced teachers should preferably have at least two years of teaching experience in an urban public or charter school; state certification and a master’s degree are helpful but not required.

• Prior experience working in schools or urban communities.
• Proven record of high achievement in the classroom.
• Valid state certification or a master’s degree.
