Director I, AP United States History Curriculum and Assessment

Location: Remote in the United States; employees near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with Tuesday and Wednesday in the office. Occasional business travel is required, including 6–8 trips per year and up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading.

Salary: $96,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the development, revision, management, and quality review of AP US History formative and summative assessments.
• Develop AP Exam forms and scoring materials aligned with approved curricula and test specifications.
• Train, supervise, and collaborate with college professors, secondary educators, psychometricians, and other subject-matter experts.
• Lead Test Development Committee meetings and coordinate the annual AP Reading, including planning, scoring, and post-event publications.
• Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, reader reliability, and cut-score development.
• Refine the AP US History Course Framework and collaborate on teacher resources, professional learning, higher-education engagement, and new instructional products.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in US History or a directly related discipline; a doctorate is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in US History and at least 5 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work.
• Strong oral and written communication, technical proficiency, organizational skills, planning ability, and attention to detail.
• Experience managing processes, project plans, schedules, tracking documentation, and collaborative stakeholder work.
• Willingness to use AI-driven solutions and digital tools in assessment development and review.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
