R&D Designer Intern (SolidWorks)

Location: On-site in Anoka, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Create and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
• Detail, dimension, and prepare drawings for manufacturing.
• Revise drawings and models based on engineering feedback and design changes.
• Apply drafting standards, engineering practices, and revision-control processes.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to improve mechanical designs.
• Maintain engineering documentation and participate in design reviews focused on function, manufacturability, and quality.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a mechanical drafting, mechanical design, CAD technology, mechanical engineering technology, mechanical engineering, or related degree program.
• Introductory coursework in CAD, technical drawing, or mechanical design.
• Basic experience with SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD system.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and understand dimensions, orthographic views, and section views.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
• Previous professional engineering or design experience is not required.
