Mechanical Engineering Intern

Location: East Syracuse, New York, USA; onsite at the facility

Salary: $18.00–$26.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support product modifications and improvements based on in-service needs and market strategy.
• Support troubleshooting of manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product issues.
• Design manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable solutions using Siemens NX.
• Contribute to the design and development of complex scientific instrumentation.
• Create and modify detail drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, operations, procurement, and marketing.

Requirements

• Active student with two years of Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology study at an accredited college or university.
• High school diploma.
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling software and mechanical engineering design principles.
• General knowledge of manufacturing techniques, industry standards, and processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal forming, tube bending, and 3D printing.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and enthusiasm for learning.
• Reliable transportation is required because the facility is not conveniently located near a bus route.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of finite element analysis, including thermal or structural analysis.
• Previous experience with high-precision design.
