Human Resources Intern (Year-Round)

Location: Mequon, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid

Family-owned metals manufacturing group founded in 1936, operating businesses including Charter Steel, Charter Casting, Charter Wire, and Niles Iron & Metal.

What you will do

• Provide customer service and support employees with HR-related questions.
• Assist with recruitment, benefits administration, HR research, reporting, and event planning.
• Support new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Update HRIS data accurately and maintain employee file records.
• Maintain confidentiality and document and improve HR processes.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a four-year Human Resources Management or related degree program and have at least sophomore standing.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice to have

• HRIS experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Familiarity with HR practices and HR law.
