Principal Engineer - Data Platform Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, optimize, and maintain enterprise analytics platforms supporting Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Essbase, and self-service data products.
• Lead scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud data lakes, warehouses, AI/ML workloads, and agentic solutions using infrastructure as code.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management across AWS, Databricks, and related data and AI services.
• Build CI/CD, MLOps, automated testing, release governance, and environment-management pipelines for data products, models, and agentic workflows.
• Support large-scale data engineering with Apache Spark, Scala, Python, Databricks, and modern ELT/ETL technologies.
• Define architecture standards and security controls, mentor engineers, and drive platform reliability, data quality, performance, and cost observability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or at least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data, analytics, cloud, and AI platforms across AWS, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Strong expertise in infrastructure as code and cloud automation using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, Databricks, AI/ML, GenAI, agentic AI, and modern ELT/ETL frameworks.
• Experience with DevOps, DataOps, MLOps, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and environment automation.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future hirify.global immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• AWS or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with enterprise data-platform administration, observability, FinOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Experience developing APIs or full-stack capabilities with React, Node, or REST services.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, resiliency, AI governance, model monitoring, compliance, and performance optimization.
