Software Engineer – Data Platform (Databricks)

Location: United States; remote-first team.

Annual base salary: $105,000–$130,000 USD plus bonus.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Databricks infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Terraform.
• Administer Unity Catalog, including metastores, workspaces, catalogs, schemas, grants, and access patterns.
• Create deployment accelerators, templates, Databricks Asset Bundles, and self-service tooling for engineering teams.
• Support platform users, troubleshoot issues, and turn recurring questions into documentation and tooling.
• Develop and maintain CircleCI pipelines, including OIDC authentication and service principal deployment patterns.
• Maintain MLOps infrastructure and introduce agentic AI into development, code review, testing, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience with a major cloud provider, ideally in infrastructure or data platform roles.
• Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Experience with Databricks or a similar data platform.
• Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of SQL.
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data modeling, or workflow orchestration.
• Eligibility to obtain CFIUS approval is required.

Nice to have

• Databricks account-level administration and Unity Catalog experience.
• Multi-cloud experience with AWS and GCP.
• Knowledge of data governance, access control, and compliance practices.
• Experience with Spark, Delta Lake, big data performance and cost tuning, or MLOps frameworks.
