Actuarial Associate, Growth (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Support underwriting and pricing analyses for new and existing partner deals, including development of MLR targets.
• Write and maintain SQL queries to pull, join, and manipulate claims, eligibility, and revenue data.
• Build and maintain Excel- and Sheets-based underwriting models and analytical exhibits.
• Apply knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, underwriting selection criteria, and MLR and risk-contract structures.
• Participate in peer review of technical work and provide review support to teammates.
• Communicate analytical findings clearly to Growth, Finance, Valuation Actuary, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or Data Science.
• 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data and metrics such as PMPM, gross margin, MLR, and risk score.
• Basic understanding of Medicare and Medicaid program mechanics.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs, and non-standard data.
• Experience with Excel or Sheets.

• Progress toward SOA credentials.
• Python experience.
• Power Pivot or VBA experience.
