Associate Actuary (Health)

Location: Based in the Seattle, Washington office; remote candidates anywhere in the United States will be considered. In-office work is preferred. Hybrid full-time position.

Salary: $88,800–$208,380 per year, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and other factors. Eligible employees may also receive a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze healthcare data and apply advanced actuarial techniques.
• Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Manage actuarial projects through completion within budget.
• Supervise actuarial students working on technical project components.
• Develop client relationship management skills and support business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
• ASA designation and four or more years of healthcare actuarial experience.
• Proficiency with Excel and some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R.
• Strong understanding of the US healthcare system.
• Ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Medicaid rate-setting, statutory reserving and year-end financials, ACA pricing and rate filing, Medicare Advantage bid development, or value-based provider contracting.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and experience working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
