Program Manager - Manufacturing (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite work supporting Mojave Air & Spaceport. Domestic travel may be required.

Base salary and leveling are established case by case; no exact salary range is provided.

What you will do

• Lead prototype manufacturing activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and test.
• Develop integrated prototype build plans covering scope, configuration, readiness, cost, schedule, risks, and delivery.
• Coordinate tooling, work instructions, configuration management, build sequencing, and manufacturing readiness.
• Resolve supply-chain constraints, integration issues, late engineering changes, and other prototype build challenges.
• Support customer reviews, government reporting, contract modifications, resource planning, and classified program discussions.

Requirements

• Experience in aerospace or defense program management, manufacturing, or development environments.
• Demonstrated success leading prototype or early-development manufacturing efforts, including low-rate builds of approximately 1–2 units per year.
• Strong technical background with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex hardware builds with evolving scope.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with hypersonic systems, flight vehicles, or propulsion-related manufacturing.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, developmental testing, or engineering-driven iteration cycles.
• Familiarity with EVMS, government contract requirements, or CDRL deliverables.
• Lean or process-improvement experience in prototype or low-rate production.
