Technical Trainer, Field Engineering/Field Communcations

Location: MA-Wareham (39 Doty St), with travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and locations.

Annual salary: $133,290.00–$148,100.00, commensurate with experience, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job technical training programs.
• Analyze field tasks and performance with field personnel and supervisors to determine training needs and program content.
• Supervise, instruct, and evaluate trainees during training assignments and follow up through field visits, observations, and refresher training.
• Implement field quality audit programs and conduct quality assurance audits, assessments, and certifications.
• Evaluate new tools, materials, and equipment and provide operational input on equipment selection and construction standards.
• Update and maintain procedures and training programs in collaboration with vendors, technical experts, engineers, and field personnel.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electricity transmission and distribution substations, including design, operations, maintenance, construction, work practices, safety standards, and business processes.
• At least five years of experience in utility transmission, distribution, substations, field engineering, testing, maintenance, construction, or related operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, coaching, and schedule management skills.
• Ability to use PC applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and working knowledge of labor contracts.
• Driver’s license preferred; D.O.T. license preferred. Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH.
