Service Trainer (EV)

Location: Garden Grove, California, with required domestic travel of up to 50% to dealer sites and regional training centers. Must be able to travel within the Americas and hold a valid passport.

Salary: $70,000–$110,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Deliver multi-day instructor-led, classroom, virtual, laboratory, and on-the-job training for EV service technicians.
• Train technicians on high-voltage architecture and safety, battery systems, charging infrastructure, powertrains, vehicle networking, diagnostics, low-voltage systems, chassis, and ADAS.
• Develop and update training modules, participant manuals, lab vehicles, diagnostic tools, and other training aids.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Service Operations, and Technical Publications on vehicle launches, service bulletins, and field issues.
• Create and administer written and practical competency exams and track certifications in the LMS.
• Provide technical support and coaching to dealer service teams and use field feedback to improve training and documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a service technician, automotive trainer, or in a related technical role.
• 2+ years of direct experience working with or training on high-voltage EV systems and components.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical theory, diagnostics, vehicle systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
• Must hold or be able to immediately obtain a recognized high-voltage EV safety certification.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, interpersonal, and adult-learning skills.
• Associate’s degree in automotive technology, technical education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or education-related field.
• Prior dealer or OEM training experience.
• Familiarity with learning management systems and virtual training platforms.
