Senior Technical Trainer - Field Engineering / Field Communications

Location: Wareham, Massachusetts, United States; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required.

Annual salary: $139,950–$155,500, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job technical training for Field Engineering and Field Communications personnel.
• Analyze field tasks and performance to define training needs, program content, and quality audit activities.
• Evaluate trainee performance through instruction, field visits, observations, refresher training, and certification.
• Coordinate training schedules, oversee technical trainers, and coach trainers in their responsibilities.
• Support testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, equipment, construction standards, and operating procedures.
• Lead local work center activities, allocate resources, address performance issues, and represent management in relevant meetings.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of direct craft experience in transmission, distribution, or field service design and installation, including customer service and employee supervision.
• Experience as a supervisor and demonstrated leadership and coaching ability.
• Knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction practices, safety standards, and business processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain theory, concepts, and hands-on technical procedures clearly.
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH. Immigration-related visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Driver’s license and Department of Transportation certification.
• Working knowledge of labor contracts.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
