Senior Global Technical Training & Development Engineer (Biotechnology)

Location: San Diego, California, United States. The role requires up to 20% travel and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $98,400–$147,600 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and potential equity.

What you will do

• Develop global training strategies for new product launches.
• Design and update training materials covering computer, software, network, troubleshooting, and Field Service Engineer business processes.
• Represent commercial training on cross-functional product teams and ensure training needs are addressed.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, hands-on laboratory exercises, Q&A sessions, and student assessments.
• Train Regional Engineering Trainers who support Field Service Engineers, distributors, and customers.
• Author, review, and edit technical documents and presentations while keeping course content current.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• A degree in Biomedical, Electrical/Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, along with biotechnology or biomedical industry knowledge.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, written communication, verbal communication, and training skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Familiarity with optical alignment, fluidics, robotics, electrical/electronics, and/or mechanical systems.
• Commitment to outstanding customer service and willingness to travel up to 20%.
