Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the Canoga Park, California facility; travel to regional suppliers up to 80% of the time.

Salary: $84,000–$156,000 per year in California.

What you will do

• Review supplier products, processes, planning, purchase orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Review and approve supplier First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
• Visit suppliers to investigate product and process issues, perform source inspections, and drive root cause corrective actions.
• Support early supplier engagement activities, including Post Award Reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, and control plan development.
• Manage supplier performance ratings, scorecards, nonconformance history, quality metrics, and performance meetings.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and external suppliers to resolve inspection package and quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant quality experience, a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with machining suppliers, manufacturing or inspection environments, supplier quality systems, and highly regulated manufacturing.
• Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, dimensional inspection, manufacturing plans, inspection plans, and control plans.
• Experience with root cause corrective action, nonconformance management, supplier surveillance, supplier development, and source inspection.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to regional suppliers up to 80% of the time.
• Security clearances may require U.S. citizenship; applicants must meet eligibility requirements for classified-information access where applicable.

Nice to have

• Certified Quality Engineer certification.
