TL;DR
Supplier Quality Engineer II/III (Aerospace): Developing and implementing supplier quality improvement, monitoring, and qualification processes for aerospace and defense manufacturing with an accent on supplier performance, product quality, and regulated production standards. Focus on leading supplier reviews, conducting quality-system assessments, managing corrective actions and root-cause analyses, and performing first-article and first-batch inspections.

Location: On-site in Lynnwood, Washington, United States; travel to suppliers up to 40% required. Only US Persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required.

Salary: $94,500–$112,700 annually for Level II; $127,600–$149,100 annually for Level III.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain supplier quality improvement, monitoring, qualification, and performance processes.
  • Create supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, and other performance metrics.
  • Lead supplier Quarterly Business Reviews and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess supplier quality systems and process-control capabilities and implement improvement plans.
  • Train and collaborate with suppliers on quality-control plans for assigned commodities.
  • Perform first-article and first-batch audit inspections and support Material Review Board activities.

Requirements

  • 0–8 years of related experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; FAA CFR 14 Part 21 or Part 145 experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of supplier qualification, supplier performance metrics, FMEA, GR&R, control plans, capability studies, variation reduction, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • US Person eligibility may be required for access to Controlled Data or Information under ITAR; the role may also require a government security investigation.

Nice to have

  • ASQC certification and knowledge of SPC.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
