PCBA Process Development Engineering Intern (SMT)

Location: Shugart, Singapore; onsite role

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize SMT processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow, and inspection.
• Establish stencil designs, reflow profiles, placement accuracy, and other process parameters.
• Drive improvements in yield, quality, cycle time, and production process control using DOE, SPC, and capability analysis.
• Monitor production quality, analyze defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in line with IPC standards.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation while supporting NPI qualification and validation.
• Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams on product reliability and DFM/DFT improvements.

Requirements

• Currently studying Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and yield-data analysis skills.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions, sites, and supplier organizations.
