RWD/PHEV Assistant Total Manufacturing Integration Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing): Leading complex manufacturing engineering programs, process development, equipment qualification, and a team of 4–6 process engineers with an accent on launch execution, quality, cost, and plant integration. Focus on optimizing manufacturing processes with statistical tools, coordinating PPAP and GP-12 activities, and solving cross-functional production challenges across U.S. and Mexico plants.

Location: Warren, Michigan; hybrid role requiring reporting to the specified location at least three times a week. Travel to GM plants in the United States and Mexico is required.

What you will do

  • Lead complex manufacturing engineering problem-solving, equipment installation and qualification, process issue closure, training, and work assignment.
  • Manage, coach, and evaluate a team of 4–6 process engineers.
  • Lead the development and implementation of program-specific manufacturing processes while meeting timing and cost targets.
  • Support launch activities through Manufacturing Validation Build Plans, PPAP, and GP-12 coordination.
  • Analyze first-time-quality data and optimize processes using Red X and Design of Experiments.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel, central manufacturing engineering, product engineering, vendors, and continuous-improvement teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 or more years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Understanding of plant-floor operations and design for manufacturability.
  • Ability to travel, including approximately 25–30% travel within the United States and Mexico.
  • Must be able to work in the United States and report to the Warren, Michigan location under the hybrid schedule.
  • GM immigration sponsorship is not available now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 support.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing direct reports.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
  • In-depth experience with transmission systems.
