Project Engineer II (Automotive)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Candidates must be able to work in or relocate to Portland; relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $86,000–$100,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Manage engineering projects across product planning, development, and implementation.
• Create project timing plans and coordinate work across engineering and other departments.
• Facilitate status, design, mockup, and visual management reviews.
• Publish meeting minutes, track action items, identify risks, and escalate issues.
• Prepare project status reports and present CVDS gate updates to project committees.
• Assess feasibility, budgets, and schedules while recommending scope changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of experience, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with project management processes and product development processes.
• Ability to independently lead cross-functional project teams and manage complex engineering development projects.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.

Nice to have

• Technical degree.
• Experience with DTNA project teams, systems, and business processes.
• Automotive or heavy-duty truck industry experience.
• PMP certification or ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
