Automotive Quality Engineer

Location: Hybrid role in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with at least one week per month onsite. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.

Manufacturer and supplier of engineered products and customized solutions for the RV, marine, automotive, commercial vehicle, and building products industries.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain quality controls for automotive accessories using data analysis and continuous improvement.
• Lead internal, process, layered process, third-party certification, surveillance, customer, and OEM audits.
• Apply risk-based quality tools, including PFMEA, DFMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
• Implement APQP and lead PPAP submissions and approvals for new product launches.
• Manage nonconformances, corrective actions, customer complaints, warranty issues, and supplier corrective action requests using 8D and root cause analysis.
• Track OEM scorecards, KPIs, documentation, traceability, packaging requirements, and customer-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of automotive quality experience in an IATF 16949-certified environment.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Experience with OEM customer requirements, portals, and systems.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and continuous quality improvement skills.
• Experience receiving, creating, and sending IMDS documentation.

Nice to have

• IATF 16949 Certified Internal Auditor certification preferred; ISO 13485 or AS9100 certification is acceptable.
