Staff Vehicle Manufacturing Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; office-based role

Salary: $155,000–$220,000 USD annual base salary for the California/SF Bay Area location, plus equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing of ruggedized compute rack assemblies, automotive harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Establish design-for-manufacturing practices and lead DFx activities with in-house design teams.
• Coordinate component supply, supplier evaluation, and build requirements with Supply Chain, commercial, engineering, test, and quality teams.
• Communicate program progress, milestones, and manufacturing risks to leadership and engineering stakeholders.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing line design, including line bring-up, testing, fixtures, and automation.
• Lead manufacturing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, yield improvement, and resolution of issues found on production lines and in the field.

Requirements

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a complex environment.
• Experience managing complex system builds and taking systems from design through scale production.
• Background in automotive, heavy industry, or aerospace.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing line bring-up, testing, fixture design, and automation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
