Resident Engineer (Transit), ANS

Location: Seattle, WA; hybrid workplace with onsite work at client sites

What you will do

• Monitor contractor operations, traffic conditions, site safety, and compliance with WISHA and Department of Labor & Industries requirements.
• Perform field inspections and verify compliance with project plans, specifications, permits, utility agreements, quality standards, and contract documents.
• Maintain project records covering construction progress, expenditures, budgets, work orders, daily activities, quantities, as-built conditions, and contractor payments.
• Monitor schedules and budgets, review CPM schedules, identify project risks, and provide status reports to executive leadership.
• Prepare change orders, contract documentation, dispute responses, claim reports, and solutions requiring contract modifications or engineering redesign.
• Coordinate quality assurance, special inspections, materials testing, TESC compliance, certified payroll reviews, and constructability reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Ten years of construction management experience on transit or public infrastructure projects, preferably including projects valued at $30 million or more.
• Three years of supervisory experience managing major construction contracts of similar size and scope.
• Valid Washington State driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to work onsite at client sites and partners' locations in the Seattle, Washington area.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer registration, Washington registration, or eligibility to obtain Washington registration by comity.
• Knowledge of WSDOT and APWA specifications, FTA-funded construction contracts, GC/CM and design-build delivery, or transit electrification infrastructure.
• CESCL certification and relationships with Washington transit agencies or public works departments.
• Contractor-side experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Procore, e-Builder, Unifier, or similar platforms.
