On-Call Toxicologist (Environmental Risk Assessment)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $60,940–$103,598 annually based on full-time employment; this is a part-time on-call position.

What you will do

• Review scientific and peer-reviewed literature on environmental pollutants and synthesize findings for reports, websites, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Perform toxicology systematic review tasks, including literature screening, study quality evaluation, and study data extraction.
• Support human health risk assessment reports by writing methods, results, and discussion sections and developing weight-of-evidence analyses.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis using tools such as Excel, Access, R, SAS, Python, SQL, and VBA.
• Maintain rigorous databases, create data visualizations, and follow standardized QA/QC procedures.
• Support scientific workshops through presentations, note-taking, summary reports, and event logistics.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Toxicology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a relevant bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of professional experience.
• Strong research, scientific writing, editing, proofreading, presentation, and client communication skills.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, visualization, and management of large datasets.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently and collaboratively, and meet strict deadlines in a virtual environment.
• Work is remote and does not involve hands-on laboratory or field work.
