Variant Assessment Scientist I (Cardiology)

Salary: $100,000-$112,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze diagnostic molecular genetic test results and write clinical interpretations.
• Review medical literature, clinical data, and functional and in silico evidence.
• Update variant classification guidelines and develop gene-specific guidelines.
• Research novel methods for assessing sequence variants.
• Manage the variant pre-classification workflow and meet published reporting turnaround times.
• Train new variant assessment and clinical team members.

Requirements

• PhD or MD in molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular pathology, or a related field.
• An MS in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field may be considered with exceptional expertise and outstanding performance.
• At least 2 years of experience in variant assessment.
• Current knowledge of human genetics theories and principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be located in the USA; the role is remote from Illinois.
