Senior CAD Technician/Specialist (Civil 3D)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Draft topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, and utility survey drawings.
• Process field data and generate base maps and digital terrain models.
• Apply NYC agency CAD standards, coordinate systems, and layer naming conventions.
• Collaborate with field crews, project managers, and engineers to resolve data discrepancies.
• Prepare record maps, easement maps, as-built drawings, and legal description exhibits.
• Manage CAD files, survey data, documentation, templates, and QA/QC support across multiple projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying or civil design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; familiarity with MicroStation.
• Experience with New York City and State agency projects, including MTA, DDC, DEP, DOT, or Parks.
• Strong understanding of survey data processing, coordinate systems, and geospatial references.
• Successful completion of fit-for-work testing, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and independent coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Civil Technology, or a related field.
