Senior Civil Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is automating construction end to end with an AI-powered engineering design engine for large-scale infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Bring deep, hands-on site-civil engineering expertise into an automated design engine.
• Translate civil engineering judgment, checking practices, and design decisions into product capabilities.
• Support automated production of construction design deliverables for utility-scale power, data centers, and other large capital projects.
• Set the technical standard for correctness across civil engineering deliverables.
• Identify critical bottlenecks and solve high-impact engineering problems using first-principles thinking.
• Collaborate across adjacent engineering disciplines while balancing technical trade-offs.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on civil design experience on large-scale projects such as utility-scale power stations, data centers, launch vehicle facilities, mass-scale manufacturing operations, or mining operations.
• Deep expertise in one or two civil engineering areas, with a broad understanding of connections to adjacent disciplines.
• Practical experience with grading and earthwork, hydrology, permitting, geotechnical engineering, or related site-civil work.
• Strong first-principles thinking, extreme ownership, and the ability to prioritize high-impact problems.
• Hands-on execution focus rather than managing or organizing other people's work.
• Must work in person in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with utility-scale natural gas power generation plants or solar design.
• Experience building calculation, analysis, or design-automation tools.
• Experience using AI coding agent tools such as Codex or Claude Code.
