Lead Installation Technician (AV)

Location: Kenilworth, New Jersey, USA and New York, New York, USA. Primarily shop-based fabrication with occasional onsite work at client locations.

Salary: $34.33–$46.45 per hour.

What you will do

• Install audiovisual, broadcast, networking, and cabling technology in shop and client environments.
• Cut, label, prepare, terminate, and test cables and connectors according to project standards.
• Prepare, wire, stage, and pack equipment racks, including power strips, grounding bars, jack fields, and mounted equipment.
• Build and wire custom panels and fiber-optic systems using engineering drawings and rack diagrams.
• Read wirelists, blueprints, functional design drawings, and technical documentation to fabricate finished systems.
• Coordinate with project management, CAD, engineering, and fabrication staff while maintaining tools, inventories, documentation, and worksite organization.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of related AV industry experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment.
• Basic carpentry or installation skills and the ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems; proficiency with Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with insurance requirements.
