TL;DR
A/V Technician II (Audio/Visual): Testing, integrating, installing, and troubleshooting A/V and video teleconferencing systems for government customers with an accent on equipment staging, rack building, cabling, and system commissioning. Focus on diagnosing complex A/V installations, working in secure and confined spaces, and supporting domestic and overseas site deployments.

Location: Lexington Park, Maryland, United States; 5 days on-site. Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites may be required for up to three to four weeks at a time, with total travel of up to 50%.

Salary: $25.72–$29.57 per hour, according to applicable SCA wage determinations and benefits.

What you will do

  • Perform Stage-2 testing of received A/V equipment.
  • Build A/V racks from engineering drawings and label communications infrastructure.
  • Assist with installing and mounting monitors, speakers, microphones, and other equipment in secure spaces.
  • Fabricate, terminate, install, test, commission, and troubleshoot A/V cabling and systems.
  • Diagnose existing A/V systems and maintain inventory and configuration records.
  • Support Lead Technicians and Engineers on ongoing A/V and video teleconferencing projects.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience testing and/or integrating electronics equipment.
  • Direct experience testing, integrating, and supporting A/V systems and equipment.
  • Ability to follow basic flow diagrams and work effectively in a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift items within NIOSH limits, stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in high, cramped, or confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, valid passport, high school diploma or GED, and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Nice to have

  • J-STD certification.
  • Experience testing fiber or copper.
  • A/V certifications.
  • Current Secret or higher security clearance.
