Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Location: United States; remote-first

Salary: $135,000–$165,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build regression automation scripts supporting application functionality.
• Perform manual validation and execute smoke, regression, integration, performance, and other testing types.
• Document feature behavior, test results, pass/fail conditions, and defect correlations.
• Identify and escalate product and process quality risks.
• Collaborate with product and customer-facing teams to incorporate feedback into testing strategy.
• Maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts with GitHub, participate in planning, and join the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• At least 5 years of experience in automated testing.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Gherkin, SQL, and Ruby/Rails.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Holistic quality mindset and ability to identify discrepancies between specifications and system behavior.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jest, Puppeteer, Playwright, Postman, JMeter, or other object-oriented automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, LambdaTest, SendGrid, Datadog, or PagerDuty.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, quality control, data-based testing, or security-based testing.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
