Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Canada, limited to Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan

Base pay: CAD 153,000–213,000 per year

What you will do

• Drive technical strategy, project planning, prioritization, and execution.
• Design and develop large-scale, highly available services, including APIs and data models.
• Build and evolve microservice and event-driven architectures for card loan attribution and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting to define requirements and deliver platform capabilities.
• Analyze complex technical issues, optimize existing code, and improve system robustness, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions and design reviews, and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development or engineering experience with strong system design and architecture knowledge.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, databases, web frameworks, and RESTful API development.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
