Director of Operations (Logistics)

Location: Perryville, Maryland, United States. Full-time onsite role with flexibility across shifts, early and late schedules, at least one weekend per month, and additional hours as operational needs require. Travel up to 20% and physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing or walking, and temperatures from 32°F to 95°F.

Salary: $154,000–$231,000 annual, plus bonus and/or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead daily distribution center operations, order fulfillment, receiving, material movement, and inventory accuracy.
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, service, productivity, workflows, and housekeeping standards.
• Coach and develop supervisors and managers while establishing accountability and consistent operating practices.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, performance management, compensation administration, training, and employee development.
• Manage capital resources, warehouse equipment, and the private truck fleet to maximize utilization and return on investment.
• Address customer concerns, visit key accounts, and support contract negotiations for new business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in a distribution center environment.
• At least 5 years of management experience, including hiring supervisors, support personnel, and warehouse associates.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, initiative, and team development skills.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to independently identify priorities and drive improvements.
• Ability to work onsite in Perryville, Maryland, across shifts and on occasional weekends.
